Edgar Orlaineta: Intro Exhibition

Edgar Orlaineta's introductory show at Loyalty Gallery on the Lower East Side brings the Mexican artist's furniture-derived sculptures and formally rigorous objects to New York for the first time. Drawing on midcentury design, pre-Columbian material culture, and a wry conceptualism, Orlaineta builds pieces that occupy the space between utility and monument with considerable elegance.
