Birdland Jazz Club: Nightly Shows

Named for Charlie "Bird" Parker, Birdland is one of jazz's holy sites — and still one of the best rooms in the city. The weekly Birdland Latin Jazz Orchestra on Sunday nights is a local institution, and the club books everything from straight-ahead bebop to Afro-Cuban jazz seven nights a week. The supper club format means dinner and drinks while the music plays, which is exactly how it should be.
