The Village Vanguard is the most storied jazz club in the world — a low-ceilinged basement on Seventh Avenue where Coltrane, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, and Sonny Rollins all played their most legendary sets. Weekly residencies by different jazz ensembles run Tuesday through Sunday, with late sets on weekends. No other room in New York carries this kind of weight. Book early; the corner booth fills first.
