NYC Parks runs free fishing clinics at Prospect Park Boathouse from May through September, with weekend sessions for beginners of all ages. Equipment is provided and no experience is required. The clinics cover basic technique, catch-and-release practice, and the ecology of Prospect Park Lake. Participants must obtain a valid New York State fishing license, available free for residents under 16 and seniors 70+.
