The 44th Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade, NYC's most beloved, absurd, and magnificent street celebration, returns June 20. Thousands of costumed mermaids, sea creatures, and mythological figures parade down Surf Avenue from W 21st Street to W 10th Street. Free to watch along the route. Organized by Coney Island USA, this parade has been a Brooklyn institution since 1983 and draws tens of thousands every June.
